Getty Images and Nvidia have joined forces to introduce “Generative AI by iStock,” a text-to-image platform designed for both small and large businesses. Powered by Nvidia Picasso, this tool allows users to create personalized stock photos through text prompts.

Priced at $14.99 for 100 prompts, each generating four images, it aims to offer an affordable and commercially safe image generation service.

Generative AI by iStock provides legal indemnification, with a cap of $10,000 per asset, ensuring protection for users. This feature addresses concerns surrounding copyright and trademarks, a crucial aspect given the recent surge in copyright lawsuits related to AI image generation.

In contrast to its predecessor, Generative AI by Getty Images, the iStock platform caters to individual users, distinguishing itself as a stock photo service. Trained using Nvidia’s Picasso model, it draws from Getty’s creative library and iStock’s stock photo library, excluding the editorial image library to avoid trademark or personality infringements.
